My English for Conversation and Pronunciation courses are designed for students who want to express themselves more fluently and clearly in spoken English. Topics for developing conversational English skills include current affairs, education, attitudes and beliefs, relationships and global problems. Intergated use of role plays and debates. The pronunciation part of the course looks at individual sounds, word and sentence stress and intonation; thus to reduce your accent and make you speak more like an English person. The objective of this programme is to speak more confidently and to lose your fear of making mistakes.

Many words simply end in ‘S’ and many others add ‘S’ in the plural; also, a final ‘S’ attaches to third-person singular verbs (‘he dances’). However, international speakers often neglect to add these necessary word-endings—partly a grammar problem and partly a pronunciation problem. Furthermore, they are typically unaware that there are two different pronunciations of final ‘S’ in English—‘soft’ and ‘hard’—and that there is a ‘rule’ governing their use.   less
International speakers of English know that the regular...   more International speakers of English know that the regular method of making verbs past tense is to add ‘ed,’ but they are often not aware that, in a way similar to final ‘S,’ the ‘ed’ suffix is pronounced in different ways: ‘hard’ (like ‘D’) and ‘soft’ (like ‘T’), and also as a full syllable (like the name ‘Ed’).   less

If someone says the long ee vowel, but they say it short, as in ih, it acutally sounds like the wrong word. For example, the word 'deep.' Deep is with the long vowel. Dip, another word with the short vowel.   less

A tongue-twister is a sequence of words that is difficult to pronounce quickly and correctly, but tongue twister uttering considerably helps to improve speech and pronunciation of difficult sounds. So, tongue twisters can be used as perfect pronunciation exercises to check up how the pronunciation rules were learnt, whether this or that sound is pronounced correctly. Moreover it is a gymnastics for lips and tongue, and when translating and learning them by heart you can enrich your vocabulary.   less
