Hello Heiner. I really get the impression you are beginning to fully understand the use of the Present Perfect. Great. Today we continued with the Education topic. We still have a little more to talk about with this topic; I'll add another slide. Today we talked about co-ed schools, good/bad teachers/students, Engelmann, and teacher pay. Here are some words/expressions that came up today: methodology, to giggle, to go on strike, to complain, to work long hours. Thanks again for coming. Best, Stephen.

Hello Heiner. Today we continued with the Education and School topic. There's still plenty more of this topic if you are interested. We discussed school uniforms, cheating, and truancy. Here are some words and expressions that came up today: We didn't have a uniform (NOT: We didn't had a uniform), a dress code, in my neighbourhood, civilian/plain clothes, to play truant, crib sheet/cheat sheet. That's all for now, Heiner. Have a great party this evening. All the best, Stephen.

Lovely to speak with you again, Heiner. Today we started on the topic of Education and School. We discussed school rules, student population in Bremerhaven, and state/private schools. Here are some words/expressions that came up today: Sometimes I GO for a sleep (not 'I'm going'), Double Dutch, Gobbledegook, A school report, We weren't allowed to put hands in our pockets, It doesn't look so good (not 'It looks not so good'), Today they are very lax, Stealing, to bully, They don't care, Punctuality, to compete. That's all for the time being, Heiner. Great to speak with you. I look forward to speaking with you again. Best, Stephen.

It was nice to speak with you again, Heiner. We went through the psychology questionnaire. My impression is that it was quite accurate. For 'always not' say 'never'. You used the present perfect correctly on a couple of occasions today, which is great. Keep up the good work, Heiner. I actually feel that you are making progress: the more you speak English the more you will feel at ease with the language as you gradually come to realise that you are fully able to make yourself understood. I look forward to another meeting soon. Best, Stephen.

You are really conversing well, Heiner. I feel you are making the most of these sessions. It's great fun to speak with you and I look forward to the next session. Bye for now. Best, Stephen.

Very nice to speak with you again, Heiner. We finished the topic of Growing Old. We talked about the Paiwan tribe and how it compared to German culture, we also discussed the concept of eternity and euthanasia. Here are a couple of expressions that came up today: Sannyasi; The grass is always greener on the other side. You're not making many grammar mistakes of late, so I think it's time for me to see if I can pinpoint another area to work on. I look forward to seeing you again. All the best, Stephen.

It was lovely to speak with you again, Heiner. We used the 'Growing Old' topic as a trampoline to talk about motorbikes, Obama, and some important people in your life. Here are some issues that came up today: 'electrician' - the 'cia' in this word is pronounced 'shhh' (like when you tell some one to be quiet); CAPITALS mark the emphasis, so emPLOYers but employEES; the verb 'to know' is never used in the present continuous tense. That's all for now, Heiner. I look forward to meeting you again soon. Keep up the excellent work. Best, Stephen.

Hello Heiner. Today was great because we were using the slides exactly as I have intended them, i.e. as a sort of trampoline for conversation ideas. We only actually concentrated on one slide but I feel the conversation was very spontaneous and smooth-flowing. You asked me about the present perfect tense, and I hope my answer was sufficiently clear. If it wasn't, don't hesitate to ask again. Remember to say "we spoke to each other" or "we'll see each other" ('each other' instead of 'us'). That's all for now Heiner. I hope to speak with you soon. All the best, Stephen.

Hello Heiner. It was a pleasure, as usual, to speak with you today. We started on the topic of Growing Old. We explored what we expect of old people, and the pros and cons of ageing. There is still plenty more to talk about on this topic. Here are some words/expressions that came up today: my eldest daughter, a roundabout, a park bench, the twenty-first century, 'Yes, I think so', a lot of time ahead of me, I didn't have to spend money (NOT: I don't had to spend money), The job itself... . That's all for the time being. I really look forward to meeting you again soon. Keep up the excellent work. Best, Stephen.
