Kaharul Afif Kahar or Kahar, for short, was born and raised in Malaysia, country in South East Asia. He is a cheerful kind of guy. Despite his serious look, he is easy to make friends with. He is very passionate about travels, learning and teaching languages. Malay is his native language. As a child, he enrolled in an English medium school in Malaysia and sinceprimary school until graduation from university, English has been used as the primary language in teaching and learning. Therefore, he was able to master English and is highly fluent in it as well. Previously, Kahar had also learned Mandarin, Arabic and Korean. But due to his busy schedule as a doctor, he had difficulty pursuing learning these languages full-time. Now, Kahar is living in Fukuoka, Japan as a student learning Japanese language in preparation for his post-graduate studies in Japan. As for travels, he has been to Singapore, parts of India and the U.K. He has always been interested in travelling especially to learn to other cultures and their respective heritage. He wished to visit as many countries as possible in his lifetime and hope to engage all people of the world.

In Japan, I work as an English teacher for an online Japanese company known as OPETS. I mostly teach English to Japanese university students. The classes are conducted using either Google Hangout or Zoom. The sessions are tailored to put more emphasis on the speaking ability of the students. The video of the sessions were recorded and I will provide feedback and correct their grammar based on what we talked about in the sessions. Previously, I did informally taught English to a number of students through language exchange websites such as Speaky.com. The students were mostly Egyptian, Turkish, Chinese mainlanders and Taiwanese. During my college days, I was also chosen as a tutor by my college to teach fellow college students who were failing in their English subject. As for Malay, I taught Malay to a number of African students studying in my university while I was an undergrad medical student. My lessons for Malay or English will focus more on speaking and grammar correction. From time to time I would test the listening and writing ability of students too. As for reading, I would encourage students to read their own material and we can discuss about which part of the book that the students are having trouble with.
