mYngle certified Blended Learning trainer I consider myself as a very open-minded person who is very interested in other cultures. I lived for almost five years in Barcelona, where I studied at University, and always enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere of this city. As a language fanatic, I love travelling. After University I spent 3 months in Australia. I travelled down the Australian East Coast staying at different homes and farms (volunteering for Wwoof Australia) and helping people picking fruit, working in the kitchen of an eco-café, baby-sitting and home-schooling, etc. It has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. I got to know many other travelers and locals, having the opportunity of improving my English and getting to know the Australian culture. I have had some other experiences in foreign countries. I spent a month in Luxemburg, where I did an internship in the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission, about 8 months in Lisbon (Portugal), as I wanted to improve my favourite language, Portuguese. I'm also passionate about mountain sports such as climbing, trekking, canoeing, running, biking... (every kind of sport practiced in nature). That's why when I finished University I did a one-year adventure sports-guide-course and I also became an official Sardinian Tourist Guide. Now, I am following both my passions on the Italian island Sardinia: I am working as a language teacher mainly during the wintertime and as a tourist guide during the summer time. While studying for my excursions with tourists I have also started loving architecture, archaeology and history and I would like to learn something about photography. I also like drawing and painting, listening to good music and reading a good book.

I hold a Bachelor in Translation and Interpreting (2006-2010) and a Masters in Foreign Language Teaching (2011-2012) from the UAB (Autonomous University of Barcelona) and I have done a Teacher’s Training in Spanish as a Foreign Language (Universidad de Zaragoza- Instituto Cervantes, 2013). I also spent a year in Germany as an Erasmus exchange student (2007-2008) and worked for the Universität des Saarlandes as a Spanish tutor for German students from the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting.

I have always been very interested in languages. Given that my parents are German and I was born and grew up in Spain, I received a bilingual education and from early stages of my life I got fascinated by languages. During the years at university, I always gave private lessons and I also spent a year in Germany as an Erasmus exchange student (2007-2008) and worked for the Universität des Saarlandes as a Spanish tutor for German students from the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting.Besides, I have learned several other languages myself (English, Catalan, Portuguese, Italian, French and Dutch), so I can give you many tips on techniques and tricks to learn a language in a faster way. While I learn or teach a language the cultural aspect is always very important to me and I try to travel and visit the countries where these languages are spoken as often as I can, what I also recommend to my students. I always apply a communicative approach to my lessons and I like using the “intercomprehension” method, that is, how the previous knowledge of one language can help you to learn other languages. I have worked in several language schools as a German, Spanish and English teacher. To give some examples, I ran the German department at International House Sabadell (Barcelona, Spain) when I lived in Barcelona and now I am teaching in several secondary schools in Sardinia (Italy), as Liceo Linguistico E. Fermi. Since I’m in Sardinia (2015) I am offering my own tailor-made language courses (adapted to different fields as hotel management, bar tending, shop keeping, web design, business English, etc.) to different institutions and businesses such as the Chamber of Commerce in Nuoro, a marble manufacturing business called GV-Marmi or several hotels in the area where I live. Since April 2018 I have also been working for a language school in Belgium, CLL Langues. I am an online German tutor for the European Agencies programme Erasmus+ and the programme Wallangues and I also create or adapt language-learning materials. As I have experience in other fields, such as translating and interpreting (3-year experience as an interpreter from German and English into Spanish during Conferences on Traditional Architecture; internship as a translator at the Directorate-General for Translation for the European Commission) and the tourism sector (4-year experience as a tour guide and info-point receptionist in Sardinia), I am very flexible when it comes to adapting a language course to the needs of the student or a specific business field. I am a mYngle certified Blended Learning trainer.
